Senior Marine Systems Engineer

Function

As Senior Marine Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating complex marine systems into complex vessels, from design to final testing. You will ensure that all systems perform to the highest standards and meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Support project proposals by defining and selecting marine system configurations and components.
• Create technical specifications for suppliers based on customer and design requirements.
• Evaluate supplier quotations in coordination with the purchasing team.
• Review engineering documentation from suppliers, such as drawings, schematics and calculations.
• Identify integration issues and propose improvements to optimize system design.
• Draft technical documents, including system descriptions, installation procedures and test protocols.
• Verify system performance through simulations or inspections.
• Occasionally provide on-site technical support during system installation and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant technical field.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience gained in the shipbuilding or offshore industry.
• Experience managing complex projects, including interactions with statutory bodies and third-party vendors or subcontractors.
• Proficiency in working with marine systems and a strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Speaking Dutch is a strong asset.
