Technical Specification Engineer (shipbuilding projects)

Function

As a Technical Specification Engineer you will be responsible for reporting, documentation and flowless execution of the following tasks during basic engineering, detailed engineering and build phase of the ship at the yard. You will support and consult the purchasing department on technical matters, assisting also your colleagues on the yard during the building process. This position is based in South Holland.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Performing technical writing of specifications based on the contract, rules, regulations and applicable standards.
• Liaising with both suppliers and other stakeholders in order to determine final technical specifications.
• Collecting the relevant technical information of the mechanical systems.
• Preparing the orders in collaboration with the purchasing department.
• Final inspection at supplier.

Requirements

We are looking for an ambitious Mechanical Engineer who has broad knowledge of mechanical systems, preferably in ships or offshore installations. Furthermore, the following requirements should be met:

• Having a relevant technical education (Bachelor or Master level).
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the engineering of mechanical systems.
• Able to work with and manage third-party vendors and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English language.

Offer

Project based position with a duration of approximate 1 year (can be extended). The company offers you all necessary trainings to develop yourself along with 38 holiday days per year. The base salary for this position depends on your experience and capabilities. Furthermore, we provide all assistance to candidates who relocate to the Netherlands.
