Structural Engineer – Construction
Are you an experienced engineer with a strong technical background in shipbuilding? We are looking for a Technical Specialist to bring expertise in flooring and foundations within the construction domain.
Function
As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing in-depth technical knowledge of relevant systems and products. You will ensure that product information remains up to date, lessons learned are implemented, and standards are available across engineering, production, and the supply chain.
You will act as a consultant to project teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring uniformity and compliance across various projects. In some cases, you may be assigned to a single project to provide specialized expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain detailed technical knowledge of flooring and foundation systems.
- Ensure products comply with internal and external regulations.
- Develop standard technical specifications and scope of work documents.
- Promote consistency in technical installations across different projects.
- Ensure the availability of comprehensive technical information for all projects.
- Establish qualitative requirements as part of standard documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate designs and technical specifications.
- Work closely with production teams to review engineering output and gather feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineer in shipbuilding.
- Expertise in structural design, hull engineering, exterior engineering, and equipment integration.
- Strong knowledge of FEM and stress analysis, weight assessment, and budgeting.
- Software proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic.
- Excellent command of English and Dutch (both written and spoken – required).
- Deep understanding of yacht building processes, production, and construction.
