Senior Mechanical Engineer

Function

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will ensure the final design is coordinated, integrated, high-quality, and completed on time. You will work alongside and guide a team of engineers, focusing on detailed engineering, 3D modeling, and creating various data sheets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and standardize mechanical engineering systems, focusing on cost and space efficiency.
• Guide builders in integrating these systems to ensure they function perfectly within the yacht.
• Collaborate with interior, construction, exterior, and special engineering teams.
• Provide expert advice on mechanical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to regulations, quality standards, and internal guidelines.
• Evaluate the technical feasibility of yacht construction in collaboration with other disciplines.
• Identify and address technical challenges, proposing solutions that consider multiple disciplines.
• Mentor new team members, enhance quality standards, and promote knowledge sharing and innovation.
• Contribute to the overall development and success of the department and organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in ship/yacht construction.
• Experience with various stages of the yacht construction process.
• Understanding of production techniques and the manufacturability of components.
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Familiarity with industry regulations such as Lloyd’s, SOLAS, and the Large Yacht Code is advantageous.
• Effective communication abilities in both Dutch and English.
