R&D Specialist – Ship Vulnerability

We are currently looking for a Naval Engineer with experience in system ship vulnerability in the shipbuilding industry.

Function

As a R&D Specialist – Ship Vulnerability, you will team up with teams in key disciplines such as mechanical and electrical, structures and arrangements to find ways to reduce the vulnerability of ships in extreme situations.

Specific duties in this role include:

  • Working in close connection with all the R&D disciplines, Engineering and Services departments and acting as an advisor on deliverables
  • Being involved in the detailed engineering process by performing design control activities
  • Perform simulations during proposal and engineering phases and full-scale verification and validation during sea acceptance tests
  • Maintaining contact with clients, suppliers and top researches institutes

Requirements

We are looking for Technical Specialists in ship vulnerability with at least two years of experience in working in the research and development of complex mechanical systems in the maritime sector.

  • Having a BSc degree or MSc degree, preferably in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of ship design and engineering processes
  • Expertise in system design, vulnerability or signature reduction concepts for shipbuilding industry
  • Organized and planned, having the ability to communicate and advise clients
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
