Function
As a Mechanical/Marine Design Engineer, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team and take charge of designing mechanical systems for sustainable ships.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Create models and calculations for mechanical systems, including piping, ventilation, firefighting, and cooling systems for ships.
- Develop 2D and 3D drafts for basic and detailed designs.
- Perform various mechanical calculations such as strength, flow, and response.
- Define purchase specifications and make proposals for technical improvements.
- Design with considerations for material use, size, weight, and service accessibility.
- Familiarize with regulations from various classification societies.
- Coordinate tasks with clients and suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.
Requirements
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in a similar job position. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:
- BSc Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years’ experience in designing ship systems.
- Experience 2D and 3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
- Affinity with LNG, CNG Installations onboard ships is nice to have.
- English in word and writing, Dutch would be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills.
