Lead FEM Engineer

Functie

In this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of FEM detailed engineering, from basic engineering to yard support and vessel delivery. Leading a team of approximately 10 FEM Engineers across multiple locations, you will ensure the strength, stiffness, vibrations, shock resistance, producibility, and maintainability of projects, all while complying with regulatory standards and client requirements.

Specific duties in this role include:

• Ensure all FEM analysis tasks are completed on time, as outlined in the project documents.
• Lead and guide a team of engineers across different locations, managing tasks such as modelling, meshing, analysis, post-processing, reporting, and implementation.
• Oversee and streamline the flow of data within the team and with external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams and different engineering disciplines to develop the best solutions for clients.
• Act as the point of contact for classification societies and clients, ensuring compliance and satisfaction.

Voorwaarden

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in ship structures, gained in the shipbuilding and/or offshore industry.
• Proven experience with ANSYS (preferably APDL) Mechanical. Experience with LS-DYNA (explicit) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ship class calculations and tools such as DNV-GL Nauticus Hull, LR-SSC, or BV MARS2000 is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
