Hydrodynamics Specialist
We are currently looking for an experienced Hydrodynamics Specialist for our client, a leading maritime company in the Netherlands.
Functie
In this position you will work in close collaboration with the R&D team, in the first engineering phase of various ships designed by the company. Your focus will be on the resistance & propulsion, manoeuvrability, and seakeeping aspects of shipbuilding projects. Together with the hydrostatics and weight engineers, you immediately ensure that the ships are designed and built correctly.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Pairing with design teams in order to optimize the hydrodynamic performance
- Collecting and analyzing operational data to validate and refine hydrodynamic performance
- Responsible for model testing and sea acceptance hydrodynamic tests
- Communicate with various departments, clients, suppliers and research institutes
Voorwaarden
- MSc degree in engineering (naval architecture, maritime, offshore) or equivalent by experience
- At least 5 years of working experience in a similar position
- Practical experience in hydrodynamics in proposal and engineering phases
- Good understanding of fluid dynamics, especially in naval projects
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English language
