Function

As a Naval Architect, you will join a small, multidisciplinary team working on the design and implementation of sustainable solutions for the shipping industry. You will oversee all aspects of Naval Architecture within the design process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility and operational studies to integrate zero-emission technologies into new or existing vessels.
  • Develop design solutions, including concept designs, drawings, and calculations.
  • Perform various Naval Architecture calculations to ensure design integrity.
  • Review and approve engineering documents like system diagrams, construction plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Class and statutory regulations, and act as a liaison with regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain communication with all project stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, shipyards, and subcontractors.
  • Provide support to project management, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Conduct on-site inspections for new builds or conversion projects.
  • Propose improvements for technical efficiency in both existing and third-party fleets.

Requirements

We’re seeking a Naval Architect with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, though 5 years is preferred. The ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in Naval Architecture or a related field.
  • Experience with Naval Architecture software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, or Ansys.
  • Proficient in English, with Dutch skills considered a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and suppliers.
