FEM Engineer

Function

As a Senior FEM Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the engineering process, working on longitudinal strength, vibration analysis, and specific construction details. You’ll perform in-depth analyses to optimize yacht structures and enhance their performance. This versatile role will involve working on multiple projects at once, sharing your expertise with colleagues, and actively participating in technical discussions.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform calculations, verifications, and adjustments for yacht structures.
  • Lead or support daily project activities on a project basis.
  • Attend and contribute to technical meetings.
  • Provide support to the FEM knowledge center by sharing expertise and developing new tools and methodologies.
  • Act as the point of contact for FEM work packages and provide technical guidance to project engineers and managers.

Requirements

  • BSC/MSC degree in a relevant field, with over 4 years of experience as an FEM/Structural Engineer (Lead Engineer experience is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of ship construction and familiarity with inspection standards (e.g., LR, DNV, BV).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and experience with FEM tools for static and dynamic analysis (e.g., Ansys, NASTRAN, Femap).
  • Programming knowledge (e.g., VBA, Python) is preferred for tool development.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a passion for technology and a willingness to share knowledge.
