Engineering Support Manager (shipbuilding)

Function
As Engineering Support Manager, your main responsibilities include leading and directing the Engineering Support subdepartment to ensure the successful execution and delivery of engineering support services. This involves strategic leadership, people management, resource allocation, process optimization, and tool proficiency. Additionally, you will contribute to broader engineering and proposal projects.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Plan and allocate resources for project teams to ensure they have the necessary capabilities.
- Manage activities to meet schedules, quality standards, and cost constraints.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve strategic goals.
- Track and enhance the performance of the group, creating a cohesive and productive team.
- Suggest and implement improvements for operating plans, policies, and procedures to meet business goals.
- Provide expert support for proposals and participate in design reviews with project teams and suppliers.
- Support the development, transfer, and retention of knowledge within the department.
Requirements
For the Engineering Support Manager, we are looking for candidates with previous experience in engineering, manufacturing, and integration of complex systems, preferably mechanical and/or maritime, for new ship builds. Additionally, the following requirements should be met:
- BSc or MSc degree in a relevant technical field.
- At least ten years of relevant experience with a variety of engineering concepts and practices.
- Proficiency in management principles and techniques, particularly in financial and contract management.
- Strong command of both English and Dutch, both written and oral.
